Giant Burgers Causing Injuries In Taiwan
The global news agency AFP reports that a growing number of jaw injuries in Taiwan have have forced Taiwanese dentists to recommend that fast food chains drop over-sized hamburgers from their menus.

Several dental patients in Taiwan have developed sore jaws or had difficulties opening their mouths after consuming giant burgers, the China Post quoted professor Hsu Ming-lung of the School of Dentistry at National Yang-Ming University as saying, "Problems can arise when fast-food fans tuck into hamburgers larger than three inches high. The human mouth is designed to gape over objects measuring up to 3.33 inches, and overextending can hurt the joint between the jawbone and the temporal bone in front of the ears".

Dentist Pulls Wrong Tooth... And Pays For It
A dentist in India who had removed a wrong tooth of a patient has been ordered to pay more than Rs 57,000 (whatever that is - Editor) by a consumer forum.

Poonam Devi, a resident of the India town Chandigarh, had gone to Dr Ashima Kohli complaining of pain in her lower jaw. The patient had earlier consulted another doctor who suggested that the pain would subside once the sixth tooth of the lower jaw was removed while Dr Kohli said that she will be extracting the seventh tooth.

Mrs Poonam said that the pain did not subside even after extracting the tooth and then she consulted a government doctor who said that the cause of pain was indeed the sixth tooth. When the patient and her husband tried to contact Dr Kohli on the issue, she is said to have been misbehaved with the patient, which led them to lodge a complaint with the consumer forum.

The district consumer disputes forum agreed with the complainant and ordered Dr Kohli to pay the patient Rs 50,000 as a compensation for mental agony and harassment while Rs 5,000 was to be paid to cover the legal fees and an additional Rs 2,200 was to be paid to reimburse their medical expense.
