Dental Plan Ahead

Welcome to my blog. I must confess that I hate blogging and that anyone reading this now should have their head examined because instead of spending time living their own life they waste their time reading about someone else's. But I degress.

I would like to ask your advice on this one question; "does anybody pay attention to instructions anymore?" For instance, one of the most visited pages on my web site, DiscountDental4u.net, is a page dealing with dental emergencies, specifically those looking to see a dentist ASAP but don't have any dental insurance. I endeavor to show how such a person can not only see a dentist either today or at worst tomorrow but also how they can save a few bucks as well by enrolling in what's known as a discount dental plan.

However, when they call my voicemail number --which exists solely to assist people who have joined such a dental plan-- they think I'm 1-800-Dentist or something and try to make an appointment with me! My voice mail's instructions clearly state that one should only leave a message if they need help in enrolling in one of the many plans are made available to them.

Don't people listen to my message? Of course they do... they just don't follow it because they're too stupid! How do I know that they are stupid? Because, first, they don't have any dental coverage and second, they are stupid enough to let what almost inevitably starts out as a minor dental problem escalate into a painful oral event requiring a dentist if not a dental specialist.

That's what I think, today, October 15, 2006.

  1. Ken- How do you really feel? LOL. Our society today is of the drive-thru variety or immediate gratification mind set. I am glad to know that a discount dental plan is available, especially within this poor economical environment. Keep in mind that due to phobia or prioritization, that many do not even seek insurance or dental care until pain drives them to seek help.

Like you, in my perfect dental world, all people would value their dental health enough to practice good oral hygiene, intake nutritionally sound diets, have dental insurance, and utilize dental services on a regular basis to reduce dental and systemic disease. As we both know, this is not the case.

Do you have a live operator to handle questions? Many people have a difficult time with automated services. Even I prefer human assistance to answer questions or direct me to the necessary resources.

I wish you luck and will check back to see how your faring with this issue.
